In celebration of International Artist Day, the Moscow Metro invited 15 students and graduates of Russian art schools to create works of art depicting metro stations. The “Subway Writing” event participants could choose which stations they would like to work at.
A ceremony for the launch of the special postage stamp dedicated to the Luzhniki Stadium (which will host matches for the FIFA World Cup 2018), was held in Moscow on December 11.
A new rail terminal – the Aeroexpress – was opened at the Paveletskaya railway station, in preparation for the FIFA World Cup in 2018. There are five ticket booths and 16 ticket machines. In addition, construction of a large rail terminal at the Domodedovo Airport has already commenced.
Russia’s first Resource and Support Center for people with deaf-blindness was opened in Moscow. The center includes a sports hall, sensory room, science lab and creative workshops which promote effective adaptation and socialization of the deaf-blind.
